Yesterday the travel documents arrived by express post from our travel agent at Jetset in Frankston Victoria. Deb and I were so excited as we unpacked the parcel. I had to leave Deb to check the contents as I had to go over to Parramatta to arrange money transfer for the tour of the Battlefields of the Somme, and also to arrange our foreign currency. I also had a teaching commitment at Parramatta Computer Pals for Seniors.
When I returned after the teaching session, I read through all the documents - the excitement mounts and I find that my sleeping pattern is recked. I only get about 4-5 hours and am awake at 1.30am anxious to ensure that all is in readiness for this trip. The last thing I had to book was our transport from Southampton Docks to the hotel in London. This has been somewhat frustrating as after trying a number of different taxi/limousine services it all seemed too hard, as they we indicating that they were heavily booked.
I tried another lot of services online this morning, and one was not a secure site, so I didn't want to use it. Anyhow I seem to have made a booking at last. with a company called Premier Airport Cabs - I tried calling them to confirm the booking as all I have to prove that I have paid the 163.90UK pounds is an email with an order id number. The man I spoke with - Andy, said he would check the online bookings and I should call him again tomorrow.
Next big task will be packing the suitcases and trying not to pack too much - which will probably be unavoidable given that we will be away nearly 10 weeks and will be going through totally different climate Zones from near equatorial to almost sub-arctic
